Best $5 Repair. The top on my 2014 Miata MX-5 would not extend or raise, and no adjustments worked because the top was not touching the stock bumpers when closed. Used 5/8" (2nd size) to fit the OEM rubber fenders and now BAM!

I bought these to replace the bypass cap on my Ford Straight 6 industrial water pump. The previous cap lasted almost 10 years (limited use). These plugs are fine as a temporary fix, but if I had room to fit a length of heater hose with a brass plug on the end, that would be my preferred permanent fix. The package must contain 8 pieces according to the package description, it arrived sealed but with only 7.

Whatever rubber they use (Dorman claims it's EPDM) will deteriorate in the engine bay within a month of use. The lid hasn't seen much heat, fuel vapors, coolant, or other liquids. It was used to block the vacuum port on the cold air hose. I've noticed that it's starting to crack. I suspect it's regular Buna-N rubber which is susceptible to ozone and other common air pollutants. I will replace it with real EPDM caps or even silicone caps.
