The part has a metal motor so it can be rebuilt. It was a simple install that took about 40 minutes including all the cleanups. All I can say to make it easier for you is to put both blocks side by side and compare them as there is a slight difference in appearance between the stock plastic block and this new metal motor. Dorman is a good quality brand for these parts but nothing more. The reason they get 3 stars instead of 5 is because they are not appropriate for this generation of Durango/Dakota. It also didn't ship with newer hardware. Not always the worst. *Update* If you have an older model (1998-2000) you will need to drill new holes in the plate to install it.
