Original part, perfect fit, easy to assemble

What can I say? It looks and performs like an OEM (except it still works) and is "universal" in the sense that it comes with both left and right drive arms, so one part fits either side. I still like Dorman's stuff; is present, fits and works perfectly. For the sake of a smile I tore the old thing apart, it's a crappy little motor and gear train, not a solenoid like I expected. An installation note; Just unscrew the entire latch assembly from the back edge of the door, 3 torx screws, and don'tโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel

  • Easy to repair

The part is great. The project is not great.

So far this product has been great. replacement project. Not as much. The bracket securing this inner door panel had to be broken off and discarded. I still can't find it, attach it to the inside door panel and insert it into the door with the window rail so I dropped it and after cleaning my hands so they look like a hamburger everything is back in place and Works flawlessly. Some car parts are not serviceable, the device was designed to be NOT serviceable. This part was obviously assembledโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Repair

This fits perfectly on my 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan without power sliding doors. It worked great. The installation is technically very simple. I made a mistake that took my brain some time to figure out (which made me angry). Here it is: A lever on the actuator slides over the top of the latch mechanism in the door, and I missed it for 30 minutes on a project that should only take 30 minutes at a high level. Once I got over it, which was annoying, the item worked like clockwork and continues toโ€ฆ

Lock actuator problem solved

I replaced the lock actuator on the sliding passenger door on our 2007 Grand Caravan. This part is interchangeable with both left and right sliding doors. I ordered the part and was happy to finally be able to repair the defective locking mechanism. However, when I installed the new part, it did not fix my broken automatic lock. It made me question my troubleshooting skills. However, knowing that this part would fit any door, I removed the left side door panel (a notoriously good drive). Iโ€ฆ

I saved $400!: Motors

The sliding passenger side door with automatic lock/unlock on my 2006 Grand Caravan stopped working. This meant that when the door was locked, the door could not be opened with the automatic opening function, neither with the remote control nor with the buttons. The Dodge dealer said they would have to replace the entire latch mechanism for about $290 plus labor, which is about $400. General! By reading online and using a voltmeter we determined that it was simply the motor in the lock actuator

  • Confident

  • Compatibility

Buy the Mopar version

I purchased this Dorman sliding door power switch in 2012 after our 2006 T&C passenger door started misbehaving by requiring manual assistance to latch. The door then worked normally for a year, during which time I only had a new lock on hand. The door finally jammed; The manual override didn't work either. I installed a new automatic Dorman lock and it failed within a month. I then ordered a Mopar version through Revain for about $80 and had no problems for six months. The Mopar locking action
