Dorman 970 041 ABS Sensor Harness Review

This sensor is identical to the 970-040 sensor except for a different retaining clip. You can reuse the old clamp and buy two 040 probes if they are not available. Relatively easy to install, but there is less room to work on the driver's side.

This part was installed by a professional mechanic and works as intended. My traction control, ABS, and dummy traction system lights were on, blinking, and chirping, and that fixed all of those issues. I no longer have a Christmas tree in the car with all the lights.

I had problems with traction control on a 2004 Impala for a while and after replacing the sensors the problem persisted. I read a review about the same problem and how replacing the ABS sensor harness fixed the problem. I changed the sensor harness and my problem was solved. The sensor harness was just right for my car.

Product works well, fits my 2004 Monte Carlo SS Connect the wire cutters to the old wiring harness about 18 inches from the sensor behind the area that moves and breaks in use and then connect the cable. Add heat shrink, solder, then stretch and shrink the heat shrink. Then 1 layer of tape straight from the case and that's good. The only downside is that the wires are aluminum and not copper like the originals, so long term corrosion can be a problem after a few years and when it gets wet.
