Strap torn =( fits on case and suitcase

from the beginning I wasn't enthusiastic about these straps. from the abrasion of what you tie it's just a sewn-on tab that doesn't stay in place to protect your kayak Worst of all the strap snapped after a few uses Strap We were in the middle of a hike and had to come up with a creative way to secure our kayak until we got to the store, don't buy these straps!

Pros
  • so far satisfied
Cons
  • negative impression

Looks solid but quality is questionable

Bought these belts for a Hobie Mirage Sport in late March. Now that it's May the weather is finally warm enough to fish and use straps. The first few times the straps worked fine, seemed quite strong. After a short drive this morning I noticed that one of the straps looked completely chewed off on one side. I don't know what happened, maybe the vibration when driving on the highway rubbed the straps on the kayak and melted? The other didn't have this problem so it goes without saying that I'mโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Boring packaging

Frayed ends make loading very difficult

I liked this article. It holds up well if you thread the strap through the buckle, but the ends were frayed when we received the straps. I chose to use a lighter to melt the frayed ends but because of the buckle it happens again after a few uses. It's very annoying trying to tie two 11 foot paddleboards to the roof of your car in 98 degree heat when you are 5ft 3 inches tall. for a new product that I just received a few weeks ago. I reported the problem to the seller and he made no attempt toโ€ฆ

These straps work but have started to wear out.

These straps are long enough to attach a kayak OR canoe to a car. The buckles feel strong and the soft buckle protector protects your car/boat from scratches. Compared to the Thule straps my friend uses, these straps feel flimsy - the straps are much lighter and the weave is looser. I don't think it really matters because the straps don't get that much tension. The biggest downside to a lighter strap is that the tips wear out after a season. I will most likely use an old knife heated over aโ€ฆ

You won't go the distance

Bought these to replace my DaKine belts that were over 15 years old and one of which had become stuck in the cam lock and I couldn't get it loose and operate. I couldn't find a DaKine longer than 12 feet, so I tried Dorsal's product. The back strap appears to be about half the strength of DaKines straps and wears out in just a month and a half. Also, the cam-lock back locks are a bit flimsy and don't last long. You get what you pay for, I knew that. But I hate being a part of this one time time

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Obsolete model

(Left side of the picture) I was satisfied with everything on the back straps they were easy perfect!I.Now in 2019 I received a flimsy, thin, smaller and poorly finished, thinner pillow, smaller buckle, thinner strap both horizontally and vertically (right side of the picture).Very disappointed! What happened? !Guys, switch to a cheap outsourced factory?!What happened to your great quality goods?!Please tell me that it was some kind ofโ€ฆ

Great kayak straps.

USE: I purchased these to transport my 11.5 foot kayak on Route 40 from Southern California to Northern Virginia across the United States. I only had to tighten these straps twice during a week-long ride at up to 70 mph in high winds and rain. PROS: High quality components, great design from straps to cams, and long length to ensure utility. In combination with Thule straps, my kayak has been safe for over 3,500 miles. For local rides (100 miles or less) I will use them exclusively and buyโ€ฆ
