I bought these to use as a temporary litter box for my adult cat who needed to spend some time in a crate. It worked well. It was big enough for him to use when he couldn't wait to get out of the box. He only stayed there for a few hours. I don't think it will take more than a few "visits" for a large cat before you need to brush them.

I bought this tray for my 8 week old kitten. It was small enough that I didn't want it difficult to get in and out of the tray. It worked fine for 3-4 weeks. When he was about 3 months old, he got too big for it. He will enter it twice and it will be full. I ended up buying a Petsmart top lid litter box (this also discouraged my dog). I can't be too extravagant in my assessment of this product, not because it's wrong, but after all it's just a tray. The great thing is that it's a well made tray so I think it will hold up well. I actually use mine as a drip tray in which I put my large dog water bowl that both my cats and Afghan Hound drink from. I place a small towel on the floor, which is great for catching any water that drips as you drink. Used as a tray although I prefer the covered ones it's as durable as any good price
