    Not even close to the 40 pound breaking point! Description is wrong.

    I installed a cedar chest with a lid that weighed no more than 20 pounds and the hinges barely slowed the lid even when fully tightened. The lid still slams shut and can be dangerous for children. Douper then sends an email asking if you are happy with their product. They're just trying to stay ahead of the negative reviews! I won't even bother and send this back. This product wasted my time.

    The Douper lid stay doesn't do anything - it's junk

    No matter how you adjust it, the lid still collapses. We bought them a few months before we needed them so we missed the opportunity to return them. They're flimsy, the plastic bracket broke when they were put on and taken off once. The instructions are terrible. We've optimized everything up and down and everything in between. We flipped them over and nothing could slow the lid down. I will stay away from the Doup brand in the future.

    Good product, fast delivery

    The product arrived on time, no problems. This didn't work for my original purpose (a hope box with a very heavy lid) as it slowed the lid down a bit but didn't stop it from popping. After double-checking the description, I realized that this was my fault - in fact, it's not meant to slow down the lid's descent, but to help keep the lid up (which it did very well). I modified it to be used with a lightweight basket lid and it works great. I especially like that the tension is adjustable.

    One of the worst products I've ever bought

    Installation without instructions is not always easy, but everything is set up. After installation, the hinges do not hold the tension at the correct angle. When the tensioning screw is loosened as far as possible, the hinge is ZERO tensioned, so the lid will not stay. Product uninstalled and tested. This will keep tension in certain positions, but not all. There must be a trick to making them work at the right angle. If I could finally get these things to hold the tension when/where I want…

    Cheap plastic, short return window, no customer service. Super disappointed!

    I bought a set of lid holders from Douper a few months ago and they hold the toy box lid perfectly open (doesn't close smoothly). I was so happy I ordered a second set and mounted it on a second toy box but this time the plastic part broke right away. Without this part there is a risk of the brace slipping off the mount and crushing the little finger rendering it completely useless.     Definitely the best choice for lifting lift cabinets in our caravan. My wife and I are tired of holding closet doors and only having one hand free.     Good product. Terrible instructions.

    These hinges work well but be warned the instructions are TERRIBLE. A small piece of paper with confusing, poorly translated instructions and bad diagrams. I finally decrypted them, which took longer than the installation itself. To save others from the same fate, I'll try to provide the best ones here.
