Less durable than old model

I always use heavy duty cut-off wheels and they have let me down. ALUMINUM CUTTING WHEEL BROKEN! After just 4 cuts of an aluminum bar (1.5mm thick) with a total thickness of less than 4 inches. The wheels detached from the mounting part. Makes it useless with nearly 98% of the resource remaining on the wheel.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • I'll write back later

Do not buy! Fits power tool parts and accessories

Maybe I'm an idiot but this wheel is incredibly unstable and looks and feels like it's about to fly off and hurt someone. The slightest uneven pressure will cause the wheel to spin out of control as the 'locking' part isn't actually locking it, just holding it in place with a weak spring. Would NOT recommend.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Damaged

Fantastic update suitable for power tool parts and accessories

Maximum improvement. Not only can you change blades in seconds, but the system allows the cutting blades to keep cutting, even if you don't hold the Dremel at the perfect angle. The angle of the dremel is the same throughout the cut. If you don't, it will jam or break the blade. The new system allows the Dremel to cut farther and the blade actually balances

I would happily pay a lot more for this set!

love it! The old method of using a small screw in a small dremel shank was awful, and I used to break washers before using them to properly fasten them. This EZ-Lock system is 100 times better than the other way of attaching and using cut-off wheels with a Dremel. I bought a "starter kit" consisting of 5 discs. I would happily pay 4 or 5 times the price for this system because it saves me a lot of frustration and hassle and I no longer break cutting discs trying to install them for use.

Worst Dremmel product ever

The EZ Lock Gartner that holds the blade on the shaft seems designed to fail. I've been using the old style for years and never had a single problem with it breaking. I went through 3 rounds trying to cut very thin stainless steel. I don't have a problem with my old wheels, they've just worn out and I need new ones. This new design cuts off the snap ring almost instantly, rendering the entire cutting disc useless. Revain and Dremmel should be ashamed for selling such a poorly designed and…

Look elsewhere for a longer lasting product

I don't normally write reviews but in this case I would like to comment. These cutting discs are absolutely terrible. They fail at astronomical speeds. Type of malfunction - separation of the metal insert from the fiberglass disc (see attached photo). I had two errors installing a new disc on a Dremel before actually using it. The metal insert detached from the fiberglass disc in my hand. Recently, out of 10 new products, 5 hard drives failed. If the failure rate is so high, the manufacturer…

Good price, long life for thin metal.

I can't find any defects even when I search. The quick change system is pretty much redundant as these blades seem to last forever. I've cut through a sturdy steel computer case to make a custom order and I haven't burned through the first blade yet. He keeps working steadily without complaining about it. The value is tremendous for the amount of work you can do with it; You will hardly find anything with better value for money. While I don't have an exact RPM specification, they can rotate at…

  • Questionable purchase for seniors

Fantastic tool suitable for cutting discs

Fantastic little tool. I had to cut off two rusty garden hose anti-siphon valves. One problem is that you can brute force twist a real breastplate coming out of the wall, now big trouble. My air compressor hose reached a valve so I started cutting and finished grinding in less than 30 seconds! Second, I would have to use my portable drill, which is much slower. I foresaw a long and difficult task; NO! It took 1-2 minutes and everything was ready. A pair of pliers, or better yet, some channel…

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Protection

I was a bit skeptical that what appeared to be just a thicker version of Dremel's standard cutting wheels would do much against a bolt. I was wrong! Works great, we had a dremel tool clone but didn't have a super bolt cutter or angle grinder so it's now in our toolbox with a battery powered dremel clone! The quick-change feature is handy, but still a bit fiddly, but better than tiny stud bolts that keep falling off the workbench when changing blades! Tip: Only use with a connected Dremel or…
