Master Plumber Doesn't Recommend

The manual can get you into trouble very quickly when drilling through a quality countertop. It does not hold the bit above the intended range even if you are careful and drive slowly. The suction cup is too flexible to hold the nozzle steady. I would not recommend this product. I am a master plumber and have been doing this job for 40 years.

Makes work easier and better

easy to use and keep in place. I used to drill 3 holes in a new 125 tank, I didn't use it through the whole cut, deep enough to start my mark well, then I took the lead off and finished everything without the lead so I could see the progress could do better at the end. The only thing I can complain about is that one of the guide bearings came loose while drilling. It's held by a nut and the bearing loosened the nut when turning, it didn't affect functionality or cut in any way so it wasn't a…

Good quality guide for cutting holes in glass!

Works like a charm! I had a round glass top and a lazy Susan turntable for the top of my decking table. The problem was I needed a hole in the quarter inch glass to fit the parasol. These instructions and a diamond coated hole saw did the trick. It was easy to set up and the bearings are high quality. The guy in the glass shop told me he couldn't do that and the glass would break, but he was wrong. It took me less than ten minutes, drilling at slow to medium speed with a gentle stream of water…

Works well but with one design flaw

Firstly it looks like the same tool as many others here except it's a few bucks cheaper but has a better feature which is a pen that increases suction holds. There is a screw on the cup lever, this has or rather had a locking ring which was either missing or popped out causing the pin to fall out. Without a pin, the whole jig is useless. Other than that and the bearing issues, this is a great fixture. it stuck firmly to the shower wall and held the bat in place. I think it is sufficient for…

An indispensable tool for drilling aquariums.

Honestly I don't know how I managed to drill through the aquarium without this tool. I had to modify a piece by cutting (see photo) so I could install it in my used 180 gallon to drill the existing holes that were too small. A simple change that does not affect performance. Most people drill from the outside in, but I was afraid I'd crack the silicone seal if I could stand 180 gallons on it (20 year old aquarium sealant isn't the most forgiving). Also used this to drill the back of a 55 gallon…

Great for small jobs around the house

Great for small projects. It's cheaply made and won't last forever, but I need to drill 5 holes in some shower tiles. This works great for this, but I will note that I have the same problem as others with loose screws. The problem is that the bearings are poorly lubricated. I lubed them with WD-40 and the bolts held up well and the bearings turned much more freely. I also found that my tile pump hose was water friendly, so I was good at lubricating with it. I have no doubt that this won't take…

THANK YOU!: Power & Hand Tools

I bought a reverse osmosis system for my kitchen sink and needed to drill a hole in my granite. The plumber refuses this because it could "crack". So I called several contractors. The cheapest was $125, another wanted $400 and another said he couldn't guarantee when he would even get home. Well, sorrow! So I went to YouTube and the videos made it easy enough. That's when I decided I could do it myself and bought a Drilax drill and saw guide together because it made sense. When they arrived I…
