Apparently not for cars.

Tried using this in the car but it didn't pick up AM or FM radio stations when plugged in. Reception was the same when disabled. Luckily I tried that before I put the radio back in the dash. This may work for a boat as described, but not for a car.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Hard to say

Rough design, short

It works. But frayed wires stuck out and the rubber tip fell off when I just took it out of the box. Also, the cable is very short, so don't plan on running it anywhere to improve reception. In the end I didn't even have to go back, I just threw it away and found another solution.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Nothing

Sucker Born Every Day

The title of this review speaks for itself. I'm one of them now because I bought this item. In fact, this is nothing more than a length of quarter-wave coaxial cable with a connector for a soldier's radio. It could be a 75 cent cable that I foolishly paid $30 for including tax. The manufacturer's description and positive user reviews are just as useless as the item itself.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Security

Try this antenna in your van

My original radio RV antenna was terrible - it was just a ribbon cable running between the front panel of the van and the inside wall. So I figured why the heck should I try this soft wire antenna as a replacement for my ribbon cable. Wow! This little pigtail antenna works fantastic. 80 miles from broadcasting stations in Los Angeles, in the middle of the desert, I get excellent FM radio reception. And there are no boreholes or ugly external radio antenna towers.

Pros
  • Builds confidence
Cons
  • Not bad

AM Terrible reception

Installed on dealer recommendation. Easy to install as it simply plugs into the back of the radio. The receiving end is a single wire with the last metal wire cut 1/2 inch. FM reception is perfectly clear, while AM reception remains static with lots of noise, similar to other antennas. Admittedly, AM reception is generally difficult. exposed to environmental influences, so I would say that this antenna is no better and not necessarily worse than other antennas.

Pros
  • Probationary year
Cons
  • The list is long.

Failed - Antennas

I really don't like leaving negative reviews but wanted to share my experience with this antenna. I live in an area where most AM and FM radio stations are a bit remote. The factory antenna in my car just didn't work. Based on some reviews of this product, I decided to give it a try. It was worse than my factory antenna. I tried it on myself, it didn't work. I connected the standard antenna, it does not help. Luckily it didn't cost that much.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Poor instructions

Works perfectly! for Accessories and Consumables

I recently bought a 1996 Toyota Tacoma. The guy who owned it didn't like the radio tower antenna so he used putty to fill the hole. So of course the radio reception was terrible. To avoid drilling a hole etc I ordered this. At first I could only get a few stations and was dissatisfied. But when I moved the wire under the dash, I found that it worked just as well as the antenna on the mast; at least for our local FM stations. What was strange was that I only had to move the extended wire a few…

Pros
  • Stable Test Results
Cons
  • Quality

This antenna does a good job. Although it claims to be a dipole antenna, I don't think that's true. A real dipole will probably give slightly better reception but this antenna was exactly what I was looking for and it provides adequate signal reception. It has no problem connecting the stations I listen to and I live about 20 miles from the city where most station transmitters are located. One caveat, and I almost gave this antenna 1 star before accidentally tripping over it before writing my…
