Sealed and flexible enough

I needed them to protect my sterilizer's UV light from my PEX piping system. I turned them into a loop between the sterilizer and the PEX tubes and no more light entered my PEX tube. (By comparison, a straight length of white PEX tubing coming out of a sterilizer will illuminate the tubing in the dark with a nice purple hue.) I was a little concerned that the rubber gasket on washer might leak, but no problem. Hope the pucks last a long time.

A simple solution at a great price!

I needed a flexible hose to connect my water softener system to a 1 inch PVC pipe. These flexible hoses offered more placement options and eased installation. I've read complaints of flex hose leaks, so I removed the double-thickness washers and coated the metal flange and washers with silicone grease before installation, and only tightened the nuts about 1/2 turn after contact. So far (3 days) without any leaks not a drop I highly recommend this supplier for the price and fast delivery.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not bad

Lightweight, waterproof!

I completely redesigned my well water system and used these flexible hoses instead of rigid piping to the filters and softener. They're actually a bit stiff, so be sure to shape them to make sure you're not putting stress on your joints. Tighten by hand, then turn a quarter turn with a pipe wrench and you're done! Here's the important part: buy them online! I didn't order enough so I had to get two more to complete the job. I needed to restore the system so I went to the local plumber to get…

Great hose but needed an o-ring to prevent leaks on the neck side

I bought a new water softener and ended up cutting the copper wire off the main water supply and replacing it with a 1 inch plug to to work with this hose. There was no leakage at the fitting side, but there was some leakage at the hose neck (pipe side) at first. I had to add a 215 o-ring behind the neck of the pipe. To do this, temporarily remove the washer and pull back the fitting, add an O-ring to wrap around the neck of the pipe. I had to play around with it to fully stretch the…

I bought this to use in my home water filtration system. The inner tube will be moved before installation and this may hit the washer inside. Make sure the washer is deep inside and pull the collet nut all the way out so the hose doesn't move the washer. It leaked right after I installed it, but I figured out why they were leaking pretty quickly and I was able to fix it. This greatly simplifies installation without the need for PVC glue and copper soldering. I mainly used shark bite connectors…

Easy to use but the hoses are designed to be reused.

I installed them on my water softener/filter/UV unit. I wanted to find a way to separate the piping between each piece to make it easier to repair if needed. The sticker in the middle of the tube tells you they don't zoom in and lists in the description that it says "Do Not Reuse". If you have connected and disconnected again, you should not reuse them. I asked a question, but I'm pretty sure it's because of the thick gasket inside the connector. They come out and you should certainly be able…

The hoses are good. Washing machines are bad.

I installed a new water softener yesterday and three of my four connections were leaking. The fourth leaked like a sieve. I unplugged it and found that the washer was not installed properly and was now deformed. Unable to quickly find a replacement washer (and quite desperate) I ended up buying 2 packs of 1 1/4 OD x 5./16 ID x ⅛ thick rubber washers at Lowes and hammering the hole through the center with a ¾ inch saw . Two of these, stacked on top of each other, were now the same dimensions as…

Great value for a hard to find item

First of all a big thank you to the people who shared their photos (incredibly helpful), app details and installation have posted experience. So it's time for my contribution... My application: Fleck 5600 SXT 64,000 grain water softener installation. The house's existing plumbing was 3/4 inch PVC with an inlet shut-off valve. The inlet/outlet connections for the water softener manifold are 1 in. male NPT. I need a solution that will allow me to disconnect the plumbing (without cutting it) and…
