The item was delivered a few minutes ago. I opened it up to plug it into my chimney but I noticed a white deposit on it. Looks used or possibly flooded at some point. The device came in a sealed bag, I don't see any water in it. So no damage would have been done before it was put in the bag. More bells and whistles than I need but great for controlling my millivolt fireplace when paired with a USB charger and a WeMo Mini. After weeks of searching for a simple and convenient way to turn the Raspberry Pi on and off from the TV and off, and not found a good solution, I found a simple, clean, inexpensive, unobtrusive way using an $8 relay switch. If you can do a simple wire splice and know very basic wiring, you can do it.
