Great idea, bad design.

I was delighted. I don't know why, besides being a big guy, but it seems like I've got a heck of a lot of time to keep the carpets from moving. Unfortunately they were a bit disappointed. The idea is great but the material they are made of is not very good. Installation was easy enough, but once installed, one of the driver's side devices wouldn't hold up. I found that the insulation under the carpet was a bit thin in this area and when I tried to completely remove the claw to move/reinstall it

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Unreliable

Here are some other instructions.

They work fine so far, but after installing the first one I tweaked the rest a bit and they worked much better. I followed the instructions closely on the first one, but after removing the floor mat, I saw that two hooks near the center of the unit had come loose. For the rest, I tapped following the directions to the part where I hammered them in. At this point I carefully removed the floor mat rather than pushing it with my heel and used a large socket and hammer to firmly secure the unit to…

Very satisfied, it's a good product that works!

This kit was used to fit the driver's floor mat to a 1999 Honda Accord. Even when new, this rug has never been left in place. Over time and age, slipping and sliding only got worse as the little rubber teeth on the bottom of the mat broke off. This kit is built to last. The instructions are perfect. To secure the anchor, they should stomp the carpet or use a hammer. I used a hammer and a 2 x 2 scrap piece to drive the plastic spikes into the existing carpet. Since the plastic parts are…

Works perfectly! on floor mats and trunk

So I bought a used 1998 Accord. Previous owners had floor mats because the original carpet was so worn that the driver's attending physicians stumbled on it. But I found that every few days I had to adjust the mat as she rode and slid forward. (Can be dangerous if it folds on its own and prevents me from braking) I remember a YouTuber named Scotty Kilmer talking about how these floor mats were attached, so I looked up his video and found him talking about it. So I bought it, installed it and so

A little more delicate than you think

I was really surprised at how gentle you have to be when inserting the bottom handle into the carpet. I followed the instructions exactly and used my foot to drive my claw into the carpet. I broke all spikes this way. I had two left so I read through here and did what others have said: carefully put everything back in place but then unscrewed the lid, pushed the mat back and gave a light tap to press it very gently into the carpet . . Using a small hammer, I tapped each leg of the claw and…

Finally he doesn't move!

I have Toyota rubber floor mats in my Tundra CrewMax and it annoys me that the passenger keeps moving when people get in or out, I keep adjusting it. I found them and decided to either try that or replace all my floor mats. Installation is pretty easy and straight forward, just make sure your floor flexes a bit, the instructions will explain. I added two to my passenger mat and used a rubber mallet to install. In the end, after the initial assembly, I took off the mat and hammered in the claws…

Impressed! in floor mats

I bought these because I was intrigued by the design to solve a simple annoying problem. It turns out they work really well. My truck is stuck and I have to jump in and out; sometimes I hit with a run-up. Usually my rugs are scattered everywhere; I'm surprised they haven't moved an inch yet. In fact, I placed a mat a few millimeters from where I wanted it and then tried (and failed miserably) to move it. So make sure you know exactly where you need them as they won't move once installed…

Do not press or hit the spikes too hard. Enough to get engaged.

Every once in a while you get a product that actually works and solves an annoying problem. I've used them with Weathertech rear mats that kept slipping. The key to a good fit is placement and use of a small hammer, rather than simply pushing with your foot to engage the plastic spikes. You also need to make sure you're installing on a flat piece of carpet that has some padding on it (and not too close to a corner). You may also need to cut off some of the rubber tips at the bottom of the mat…
