Dust Dust Dust on the braking system

I love the stopping power of these pads. I notice a big difference. However, these pads produce so much brake dust that my 20" aluminum wheels turn black within 5 days of a truck wash. It actually looks like I have different wheel sets front and rear.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Compatibility

Better than expected, especially after a few kilometers

After installation, the braking performance was the same as the original pads and dust was generated, but after a few hundred kilometers of braking it was much better. Braking requires virtually no effort at any speed. Too bad I haven't installed it for a long time.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Modern

The best holding brakes

This is my second set of these pads. The first set only lasted 2 years but these are the most efficient pads I've had on any truck I've owned in the last 25 years. A bit dusty but if you wash the car regularly everything is clean. Stopping power makes up for some dust and short lifespan. If I have to spend $50 a year on a pass, that's fine.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Outdated

on par with other good brake pads

I have installed these brake pads on my 2008 GMC Sierra 1500 for the last 15,000 miles (2 years). I just took them off because they are already FULLY worn and metal. The performance of these pads was decent, comparable to other good pads. But the brake dust was way worse than the others and the incredibly short lifespan of these pads means I'm done with EBC. AVOID this.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • Slightly dented

Great stopping power but BAD hardware

I have been using EBC brakes for a long time. Love the performance but hate the fact that I have to replace it every 10-12k miles. I have a 2008 Chevy. Suburban 1500. Two years ago I bought DP71830 Greenstuff EBC rotors and 7000 series pads all around. Great performance, but you're kidding yourself if you think you're getting more than 10-12k. You get 5 stars for performance and 1 star for durability alone.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • The list will go on.

Dust! Doesn't work with original rotors

They've been on my Silverado for 5 months. The intervertebral discs have been covered in dust since they've been running. The wear indicator just started beeping. On closer inspection, the (formerly very good) brake discs now have clear scoring (no impact, just sheared off due to braking friction) and the pads are almost completely worn out. It only happened after maybe 8000 miles on these brakes. During this time, the brakes got hot and felt soft. Either I have a bad kit or they should be used

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Useless features
