Everything looked fine when fitted; until I started the car. After four removals and reinstallations my car was still leaking fuel.

Works great, fits great. My old man was absolutely disgusting. When you buy a used car, this is one of the things that needs to be replaced.

Toyota could have designed this fuel filter better! Once you've finally taken off the old one, it's not that difficult to put on the new one. DO NOT EXCEED THE THREAD and use an adjustable wrench. (and lots of PB blasters too!)

This is not an easy installation as it is difficult to install on a vehicle where there is not much space to work. You should be able to get under the car and remove part of the fender skirt to access the filter. The supplied metal sealing washer may not be needed on all vehicles as it caused a fuel leak and had to be removed and reinstalled. The old filter turned out to be fine and did not need to be replaced.

The filter comes with two large copper washers and a third very small copper washer (the third small washer was not used as the original filter installation did not have one). Some vehicles may require a very small shim. The rest got up with no problem. Checked for leaks and there was a small leak on the input line so I tightened it a bit and the leak was gone. Watch out for fumes and spilled gas and do not overtighten.

After reading all the positive reviews I ordered two of these filters. I had to replace mine with my 1993 Toyota Camry and wanted another as a backup. After replacing the native filter with the first, it immediately began to leak from below. I thought maybe it was just a coincidence and since I had a second one I changed it. Not an easy task but the filter itself fits a 2001 Camry LA 2.2L. I have two things to note.1. When transferring the mount from the original filter to this filter it bent on the sides, maybe I was just lucky but I think it's important to say that you don't over tighten the mount as the filter isn't as stiff as it is the OEM . 2nd mine came with three washers.
