Edelmann 8624 Power Steering Pump Review

My analysis of this automotive product showed that it was a complete waste of money... The pump failed after just a few months of use causing steering problems and eventually leading to a dangerous driving situation. The only pro I can give is that it was easy to install. However, the cons vastly outweigh this minor benefit and I do not recommend this product to anyone in need of a reliable power steering pump for their performance car..

I converted my power steering pump with this kit about 2-3 years ago, and recently I had to do it again due to massive leakage on the shaft seal. When I removed the pump I found that there were 4-5 vertical cracks on the front shaft seal as if the rubber had dried and cracked. The original OEM gasket never leaked, but I replaced it with the gasket from this kit the first time the rear gasket started to leak. I regret that I exchanged the seal for this one.
