Took forever to show up as the delivery date changed right after ordering and I ended up having to buy a power steering pump to get the customer's car back on the road. Once it got here it looks like a quality kit but I can't verify it.
Buying remanufactured power steering pumps from local parts stores always seems like a poor quality purchase so I started repairing them myself. Edelmann kits make it easy to find an all-in-one solution. If you are doing this for the first time, take something to photograph and a marker to determine the location and direction of any reused parts.
I really wanted this kit to work with our 2008 Acura TSX (Revain says this kit will fit). pump, get the right parts and close everything again. As soon as I opened up the pump (yes, it's an Acura factory pump), I was concerned because the original seals were much more reliable. Replacement parts didn't fill the channels like original parts did. After that was done, I screwed the pump back to Acura specs and in fact it leaked right away (much worse than before the "rebuild"). Took it apart again
I recently rebuilt the power steering pump on my Honda Element with this kit and couldn't be happier! more bad stories than good ones. I've never opened up a power steering pump, but with the help of some YouTube videos I was able to get the job done in about 3 hours. I'm fairly mechanical and have worked on cars in the past, but I'm not a mechanic. The refurbished pump has been running daily for over a month now and works perfectly! Much quieter than before, no leaks and my steering wheelβ¦
