Removed all clay tiles from the steps and left a lot of old thin set on the steps. Bought this disc for step removal/scraping/cleaning. This grinding wheel worked as it should. Grinding took about 2 hours. I sprayed water on the steps to avoid more dust. The disc fits my Makita 4 1/2" sander with no problems. Bought for an extension to a home as I knew I would need concrete leveling. Pleasantly surprised by the speed with which he pounded a 1/4" ledge out of the ground in a 2" area, lots of dust so a good vacuum, mask and air movement helps when indoor work is required. Consider water, but the mill is running at high speeds and more mess is to be expected in the long run. We will try on some of the marble slabs that we have that need to be cleaned with water. I had cracks in my garage floor and the 'panel' sections were going up and I couldn't turn my shop chair around without stopping! aggravating! It took care of all of that. I sanded down the studs to make them even and smooth, now I play over them like they're not there. Exactly what I was looking for. Hell, it was even fun. Had to smooth out the bumps around the plumbing's concrete work after moving my design to the bathroom plumbing in the basement. It ripped those edges apart and cleaned everything up nicely. I've never used a diamond blade or grinder so it's hard to compare it to more expensive products but I can say it did its job very well and very quickly . As others have said, this thing shoots a lot of footage quickly. I was able to sand about 1/8 inch to line the door opening. There are many ridges and craters in this small area that connected several pours of concrete, but now it's mostly smooth and even. pretty decent finish on the back.
