I didn't like it, I don't recommend buying it.

Some pros: Detains large debris allowing to increase the service life of the exterior. Different cons: It is not clear why the manufacturer made a sufficiently large through hole in the filter. A couple of weeks ago, an Ancitrus catfish 4 cm in size disappeared. Later, 2 Agassizi females of a similar size disappeared. And today I bought a bright red cockerel delta. Released, admired them for about an hour. I was distracted by household chores for just a couple of minutes. I go to the aqua, but…

My impression of the purchase is good, buy it.

It is advisable to change the sponges inside the filter after a year. Wear out, become not as porous as new. Bacteria work here too. The lower sponge is only 50% active compared to the upper one.

Pros
  • Mine once every two weeks. External filter, eheim 350 classic, turn off for 5-10 minutes. While I wash sponges and I wipe the case. Basically the top sponge works. The thing is good! At least twice reduces the cleaning time of the sponge or synthetic winterizer inside the external filter!
Cons
  • 1. When buying, I noticed that the neck, where to insert the intake pipe from the external filter line, is larger in diameter. True, the deeper it goes inside, the narrower it becomes. But still, the pre-filter does not hold, the tube does not fit tightly. It is necessary to compact either with a piece of foam rubber or synthetic winterizer. Those. its attachment to the external filter line is not fully thought out. 2. The suspension still does not completely penetrate the filter. When it is removed, part of it scatters around the aquarium.

In general, the thing is good, but not that very necessary. In principle, I don’t feel sorry for the money for it, but its almost non-working lower half is a little sad

Pros
  • Retains large particles of dirt and cat hair that periodically enters the aquarium
Cons
  • Only the upper half effectively in dirt. The lower one almost does not work and does not get dirty. Easy to attach to any external filter will not work. I had to with a piece of hose (seen in the photo)

The best price for such a product, I will buy more!

Once a month I had to open the outer box (tetra ex1200+) to replace the fine cleaning sponge, it was completely clogged, the water flow dropped and a suspension appeared, I bought two eheim pre-filters, removed the top and bottom covers from one, I use four baskets at the same time, on the top cover, with using a drill machine and a nozzle with sandpaper, expanded the outlet to the maximum possible, ~ 17 mm, after which the volume of the duct was restored to the usual 800 l / h, for 3 months of

Pros
  • Compact, efficient, easy maintenance
Cons
  • The outlet is narrowed to 10mm, why!?

A valuable purchase, some advantages!

Since the aquarium has a large population, it was necessary to clean the external filter almost every month. Ordinary pre-filters in the form of sponges did not look aesthetically pleasing, and when they were removed, turbidity always rose in the water. Found this prefilter and decided to purchase. Yes, the price bites, but you always have to pay for quality. I clean it at water changes once a week. Everything is done simply: removed, disassembled, washed, assembled, installed. There is no…

Pros
  • Convenience and versatility of installation, simplicity of design, efficiency.
Cons
  • Not found

Good product for me, no problems at all.

I really liked it constructively, it is attached to the tube without problems, it should be universal. You can use each section separately, that is, in fact, it is 1 pre-filter with two cassettes, you can set aside one in reserve. Instead of a standard sponge, you can put a synthetic winterizer in the section, as they say, the upper sponge will hardly clog, but if you put a synthetic winterizer in the bottom one, it will be used more evenly. So far, I installed it as it is, in a week I'll see…

Pros
  • Looks good

I hesitated for a long time whether to install it or not. Assumed: - Will spoil the view of the aquarium. - Reduce the power of the external filter. But I did and didn't regret it. Because the pros far outweigh the cons. Which, as it turns out, doesn't exist at all. Pros: - Appearance. Definitely a matter of taste, but I like it. I planted grass, and in the cichlid, I hid beauty behind a pebble. And even without that, I like his design. - "Chip" of this prefilter - modularity. Removes the…

Pros
  • High quality. Appearance. Easy to wash. Due to the container, less dirt gets into the water when you remove it for washing. Replacement consumables. Modularity. You can assemble from several or use one section. Its "trick" is two sections! Many here do not understand this. Installed in all aquariums. It saves time when using it. I flushed it when changing the water and less often I need to service the external filter. And most importantly, you break the balance less often when cleaning the external filter. I recommend! And in aquariums where big fish eat a lot, it’s generally necessary to install it.
Cons
  • No

The best thing I've ever used, I recommend it to everyone!

Has pros: normal prefilter. picks up dirt well. I have 2 of them: one on the external filter and one on the internal bulbulator. Its cons: not compatible with all bulb models. mine is not tight. I have to press it to the bottom so it doesn't fall out. norms works

It would be ideal if there were a smaller version of it

This pre-filter is a bit too big for my purposes; it dominates the back corner of my 20 gallon. It would be ideal if there was a smaller version. Aside from simply taking over real estate, this is another semi-obvious eyesore to draw attention away from plants and fish. (I intentionally planted a lot of plants around it to partially hide it.) This seems to do a great job of slowing down the rate at which the filter tube becomes clogged with silt. Plus, the pre-filter itself is surprisingly…

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Everything is fine

Perfect for a turtle tank

Love it. I was trying to find a way to add a pre-filter sponge to my Eheim Classics that would be turtle proof. Typical sponge filters do not work. Then I came across these and voila! these works. I have two, one on the Classic 2217 and one on the Classic 2215. Tank maintenance made easy. Just take a plastic bag, wrap the filter in a bag, remove the hose with water from the tank and take it out of the tank for cleaning. Any dirt that falls out ends up in the bag instead of in the tank. Learned…

function over beauty. Let's say

This is quite a large addition to my SunSun 704b intake manifold. It's not easy to hide. Its anthracite color doesn't match my filter's other leads and contrasts dramatically with my black background and sides. But boy does it do the job! I set up a new aquarium with African cichlids, mixing in lots of fine white sand. Not wanting all that sand in my canister, I took a chance installing an Eheim pre-filter that matched my SunSun line. After shortening the down tube, he did a great job. The…

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Brilliant and --> height adjustable!

Before praising this wonderfully innovative product, I'd like to address the size: several reviewers have said it's large and yes, it's quite large. BUT the height can be reduced by almost half! There are three segments: an upper one that fits into the intake pipe and two lower segments, each containing a separate sponge filter. While both barrels have the same perimeter holes, the top barrel has holes in the bottom and the lower segment has a solid (closed) bottom to prevent substrate being…

Pros
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • Don't really like it's ok
