Great starter! at Starters & Parts

This starter works great! I installed this starter on my 2005 Mazda 6i 2.3L. It's only been a week. So far, so good. I hope it lasts. The time will show.

The transmission does not retract.

Was defective. Yes, it fits my Mazda 6 2004 2.3L. But the transmission does not retract after starting and stays on. As you can see the tearing effect from the continued rotation of the crank. I had to uninstall it and reinstall the old one. It's useless to me now.

defective, remains on after engine start. It looks like a spring or something in that mechanism isn't bringing it back to the neutral position. It is actually very strange, a faulty starter motor which usually needs to be replaced will not start, this particular item does the opposite.

Great value for money.: Starter

Fits and works great on my 2003 Mazda 6i for the past few months. It was a third of the price at the local auto parts store. They offered a lifetime guarantee, but I had to go through three of them before paying out. The original starter lasted 14 years and this one started great. It's very doubtful I'll have the car long enough for a lifetime warranty to be worth the money.

It doesn't go best with Starters & Parts

I ordered this and sent it to the Caribbean to replace that on my 2006 Mazda 6 4 cylinder. This is advertised as a starter replacement for this machine but after spending the money for the starter plus shipping to the Caribbean. And customs clearance, I end up taking it to my mechanic but it doesn't fit. There are several differences between this and a real starter. I can't believe I'm stuck with this piece of junk and I still have to go somewhere else to order another appetizer. Please don't…

Update compatibility, it's not exact.

In general, the product looks good. However. It was listed as a compatible replacement part for OEM part number L321-18-400 for my 2008 Mazda 6 2.3L. No, that is not so. The gear is out of place and slips over the flywheel during installation, causing the flywheel to drag and damage. Please update your product listing and vehicle compatibility to ensure other buyers do not destroy their flywheel requiring you to pull out the engine rather than replacing a pair of starter bolts.
