🔧 K&N Engine Air Filter: Premium, High Performance, Washable Replacement Filter for 2015-2019 Ford Mustang L4/V6/V8, 33-5029 Review

Installed on my 2019 Mustang GT. Now I have 9000 hp. and 10,000 pounds of torque. To kid. I haven't noticed any real difference, but I like that I don't have to worry about changing the air filter for "a while". Plus it fits, no problem.

Great replacement filter for your S550 Ecoboost Mustang (fits GT). Don't go out and spend hundreds on the cold air intake for minimal benefit. It's better to just buy this filter and install an Airraid intake manifold on your Ecoboost Mustang and invest the money saved on other parts for your car.

I think any claims about improved airflow or horsepower are bullshit but this is a quality reusable air filter and that's why I bought it because my local car dealers always sell Paper filter for the 2015 Mustang GT. I recommend it even though it's expensive because you'll never need another air filter again.

I was skeptical at first, even after reading an article in a well known motorsport magazine and a suggestion from my SCCA mechanic; but the increase in performance was immediately noticeable. My 2019 Mustang GT has plenty of power and torque, and my main focus was the terrible 4-piston brake system, but this air cleaner is good value and a pleasantly surprising (albeit modest) performance upgrade. And the fact that I'll never have to buy another air filter again is a nice bonus.

I've seen some charts on MotoIQ showing that this filter actually gives you 7 peak horsepower. and 19 hp at 5400 rpm, averaging 12 hp. It was enough to make me want to buy one and try it. I'm not sure I can tell the difference, but it's still nice to have a reusable filter. My biggest complaint is that it arrived with a bunch of lint in the filter and bits of plastic from the manufacturing process. Filter on the "clean" side no less! I had to clean the filter thoroughly before installing it.

I bought this filter for my 18 year old GT with no expectations of a performance boost, just an alternative to disposable paper filters. Without changing my driving style at all, on the next fill-up I went from my usual 25mpg to a solid average of 26mpg and over 27mpg if I counted just highway traffic! The years have always gone back to the K&N plug-in filter. Like other CAI brands and the results are always the same, CAI or FIPK will suck in hot air when driving in traffic. The factory air intakes are designed for every need, and the only thing the car needs is a better-than-paper filter, and the K&N filter does a damn good job.
