simple fix and it causes most lean mixture codes

if you have a jetta 2.5 and i think any engine actually if that part fails your onboard computer will give some codes to suggest this is bad happening, the Idle rises and falls, the check engine light comes on, giving you codes of a running lean mixture, a low-voltage evaporator filter, and even a catalytic converter. So yes, that's a good price for a simple solution.

Pros
  • new
Cons
  • some errors

Great for spares

Seems to work well. Like others, I reused the factory spring, it was longer and stronger. There were no issues with the lid and membrane snapping into place. I hope someone shed some light on how to crack open the original cover. It was very tight and I couldn't get a screwdriver under it without risking the valve cover. Dorman had some bad reviews so I went with this one, but if this one doesn't work I might try RKX next.

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Security

It works on a 2013 Jetta but retains the original spring.

Like other reviews. Leave the original spring, it is long and gives more tension. The one I got was short and produces a high-pitched whistling or ringing sound when the car is running for a few minutes, after which the noise doesn't go away. You should straighten it out a bit and make sure all the clips snap into place. I also cleaned the MAP sensor. Has been working without problems for a few days now. This resolved my error code P0106.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • High price

Spring should be longer.

Replaced PCV in a 2012 VW Jetta 2.5L. I didn't realize upon installation that the spring that comes with this PCV is too short and will cause the PCV to make a high pitched squeak when moving. If you've ever replaced one of these, you know how difficult it is to remove that plastic cover without damaging it. So I had to go back and carefully remove the new spring and replace it with the original spring. Now the script is gone. The manufacturer should fix this problem.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Direct Fit Replacement Parts

The product was a direct fit replacement and as of now my check engine light will not come on. I felt like only the word "quality" was on my mind. 10/10 would recommend if code P0106or other MAP sensor codes keep popping up for your VW as this is something even mechanics overlook. A quick way to check if there is engine oil on the MAP sensor when you remove it. If so, it's most likely the culprit. When replacing the membrane, be sure to clean the tubing attached to it and the inside.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • No Instructions

Won't fit - avoid

VW recommends not replacing this part alone, instead they install the PCV valve directly into the valve cover. As such, they are secondary and suffer from poor customization and attention to detail. If you choose this option, be VERY careful to make sure ALL the small latches line up and "snap" into place. You'll find that this is easier said than done, and the device will likely pop out at the worst possible moment. I bought one from another company that failed for 2 years. This popped up…

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Some trouble

So far (1 week) so good

12/02/18 fitted, used original spring and did what another 2012 Jetta owner did: diaphragm sealed with an RTV cap with sealant (the old one was stuck in the groove in the cover, it takes some effort to get it out. RTV sealant may not be needed if you firmly seat the diaphragm in the groove. Anyway.) For over a year the car has been jerking/jiggling a little lifting or cornering and accelerating. I recently changed the spark plugs and coils and did OXS. The problem persisted (so far anyway)…

Pros
  • good stuff
Cons
  • repair
