So my disk used to work but actually did nothing, couldn't write to the disk, couldn't read the disk what was read everywhere. After trying different blank media as well as data disks I found that it doesn't work at all, it identifies all disks as blank. Bought this CD and DVD burner. It is advertised as a DVD±RW and can be seen in the product image. I received a CD-RW/DVD-ROM. In other words, it can burn CDs but only view DVDs. It burns great CDs, but that was only a small part of the reason I wanted this drive. Also, the included USB cables (yes, that's right, it takes 2 USB ports) are pretty short (about 60cm). This CD drive works about 5% of the time. I have NOT successfully gone through an installation with no errors. Every time I try to watch a movie or install a game, this disc starts up and ejects the disc after a few minutes. Even with a pristine, brand new drive, that drive won't survive the end of a movie or software installation without a few ejections. Super annoying!
