Very handy around the house

I have a lot of guitars and although I check the neck after every few string changes, some have become dry in between. This makes it very easy to touch up the neck between string changes. One fabric is enough for 2-3 guitars, at least the way I use them.

  • Ideal for a small home

The only neck rinse I will use.

This is the only neck rinse I will use because it is comfortable and effective. I've used them on some really dry fretboards and it still only took one wipe. Contains linseed oil, but the mixture is light and the excess wipes off easily. Linseed oil is an excellent wood preservative. Give it a try.

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Don't remember

Take the finger cheese from the fretboard.

Perfect match for my Gibson neck (rosewood) and my Telecaster (maple). It definitely darkens and moisturizes the rosewood, the maple neck is finished in a nitrocellulose clear coat so it's not visually noticeable but does a great job of removing finger moisture from the fretboard. Nice to have on hand and they packed so much into the pack that I'll probably never run out of juice for the rest of my life.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • High price

Too dry? Strings not cleaned

Not recommended. These towels are too dry for me. I've used one and didn't see a difference, but did notice that the cloth was barely damp and definitely not wet. So I tried a second swipe, and the same thing. Napkins are still clean as if nothing had been removed from the threads. As for the strings, the most fretted parts of the strings were still dull, with the lighter parts being even lighter. I could not tell any difference after using these wipes.

Pros
  • Housewares
Cons
  • Very expensive

These ROCK! suitable for metal polishes

I've been using Fast Fret for over 35 years, maybe longer, and I love it, but it's overpriced. I chose Ernie's because they have great reviews, the price is right, and they're easier to transport because they're not bulky. These things are great for cleaning strings. I've used one reed on two classical guitars and one electric guitar. They work just as well as fast frets and are easier to use. I will be stocking these up for my 30+ stringed instruments. I can't believe I haven't used them…

Pros
  • Health & Household
Cons
  • Ugly Packaging

Ideal Fret Conditioner

I use this on ebony and rosewood frets and it moisturizes and cleans them great. All you have to do is wipe it off, leave it on for about 10-15 minutes (or longer if the throat is really dry) and then wipe off the excess. Repeat if necessary. They darken the wood significantly and have a mild but rather pleasant smell. You don't even have to remove the strings - I just slip a tissue paper right under the strings and make sure the oil gets into every slot on the fretboard. Make sure you wash…

Pros
  • Home Cleaning
