Like it a lot! Best in Terrariums Heat Lamps and Mats

I bought these for my daughter's hermit crabs because the fact that they glowed was interesting. It shines brightly for about an hour and then dims fairly quickly. I still love the fact that they somehow get "moonlight" and their daylight feels more natural. This is the only source of warmth for them and I can say that they are much happier now because they are much more active. They used to hide a lot or stay buried and I really think they were just cold.

NO Clamp Lamp in Terrarium Heat Lamps & Mats

I spent over an hour trying to tighten the nut just enough for her to actually hook and hold onto something with no success. No matter how tight I tighten the nut, the bulb just wiggles free, while the ceramic socket now has nicks from the other end being tightened so much. What a waste of money. I bought a $6 pinch light from Walmart, but I needed a ceramic socket instead of a plastic one. The $6 clip actually stays in place, but it's a shame it doesn't fit on this piece of junk.

One of the few 5.5 inch lights rated at 100w

The main reason I bought this light was because I needed to light a 100 watt warm zone bulb. The area has specific size requirements and should be somewhat small. I looked at many other brands and they were all only rated at 75 watts. Of course there are cheaper lights out there for the money and the "moon" glow in the dark effect doesn't really last long but I have to say that while these lights are nothing special they are quite durable. I would definitely recommend this lamp to everyone.

Very good heat lamp for reptiles

I use it in my Russian tortoise's 4 foot paddling pool and it keeps them warm enough even in winter. I use this with a 100 watt reptile bulb for general warming of the turtle and I use a 100 watt ceramic spot heater in a small bulb to provide it with spot light. When I bought it I didn't know it had a glowing light. coating applied to it. Even if the bulb is on for 10 to 12 hours, the glow only lasts for an hour or less. Otherwise it is a very good heat lamp with a wide beam pattern making it…

Great concept to match Terrarium Heat Lamps & Mats

It's a great concept but didn't quite suit me. I have a bearded dragon (toothless) and I have concerns about UV as well as heat. When I used a mercury lamp, I couldn't use it because it doesn't vent well enough and that would severely shorten the life of the lamp. Well, in my current setup I'm running a 150 watt flood. Before I set my timers properly, the lamp worked as advertised. All the lights went out and the dome glowed. Toothless would watch the glow when he went to sleep. The reason this

Very good quality clamp lamp

Contrary to many reviewers of this product, I only bought this to use as a lamp on a photo lamp stand with regular incandescent bulbs, as a lamp next to my computer desk and others next to the bookshelves . All I have to do is remove the clip from this lamp and attach the stand where the clip would normally be. I've tried several products made for this purpose, ranging from $5 to $12 each. Some of them arrived with bent umbrellas due to damage in transit and were simply thrown into a poorly…
