Works great for electrical

This meter has a replaceable fuse to measure current. Sometimes I forget to move the leads back from the current measurement position. Now if I goof around it just blows a fuse and I can just put a new fuse in instead of buying a whole new meter.

Pros
  • CAT II-300V rating
Cons
  • Weight

Great meter for basic electronics

Used for some basic electronics, nice little meter. Good size, works well in the sun or in dark rooms. There are also small clips that attach to the probes so you can hook wires to the probes without trying to hold them to the probes yourself.

Pros
  • 2000 count LCD
Cons
  • No

Non-contact voltage was a joke

One of the main reasons I bought this device was the non-contact voltage detection but it didn't work. To be honest, he worked more like a metal detector. I could flip the switch for a specific row of outlets and make sure they were plugged off, but this meter would constantly flash a "Live" light if it stayed nearby. But even then he gave no sure testimony; You have to move the meter around the outlet and pay close attention to that little light only flashing for a split second. I returned it…

Pros
  • 9V battery test
Cons
  • The list is long.

Works great but comes with a dead battery.

This meter comes with a dead battery; Fortunately, the dead battery was of good quality and showed no signs of leakage. The battery compartment is difficult to open; After loosening the screws, you need to slightly pry off the cover from both ends. I bought it as a gift so it's good that it comes in a resealable package so I can test it and change the battery. Aside from these minor issues, the meter works great and is excellent value for money. I gave it four stars instead of five because…

Pros
  • Built in non-contact voltage tester for quick circuit identification
Cons
  • Unbelievable price
