So upset! in Cutlery & Knife Accessories

These knives were so sharp and beautifully cut that the tip of a large knife broke off when it was cutting something very soft after only two months of use! According to the warranty information, I have contacted Farberware for support. He sent a photo of the problem, described the situation and nothing was heard for THREE MONTHS. Eventually I got an email asking if it was a Farberware knife... oh my god. YUP! I replied that it was. Now there is no answer again. This is so funny. Do not buy…

My new favorite ceramic knife

Great size for cutting fruit/vegetables. Very sharp, cuts through the smooth skin of peppers and tomatoes. Very comfortable grip. I've been using ceramic knives for several years and this one is better than others I've bought. Others were Kitchen Aid and they worked well and were cheap but just didn't have the balance and feel. I gave it 5 stars for ease of cleaning and versatility but didn't rate durability as I don't think ceramic knives are durable. . They are in the sense that they hold…

Most likely an inferior batch or counterfeit product! BEWARE!

Let me start by saying that I have several other Farberware ceramic knives that I love to death. So I just bought this one. The first thing I noticed when I took it out of the box was that the pen was incredibly sticky. It's like flying paper is attached to it. As you can see in the 3rd photo I placed the store bought version next to the Revain bought version. You can see how sticky the pen is compared to the store bought model. Also note that the store-bought model came pre-sharpened and the…

What do you do?

I read some reviews about the blade breaking in half. Yes, the blade is ceramic. Did you know that ceramics can be flexible? Don't bend it and it won't break. "He's so fragile!" . To shout out loud, this is a paring knife, not a Marine Corps combat knife. It is used to cut off the ends of strawberries. I've used mine recently and I can say I like it. Thanks to the ceramic blade, I don't have to worry about sharpening for long and the blade is already sharp enough. It may not be /quite/ as sharp

Pros
  • EASY TO CLEAN: This set is dishwasher safe (top rack only) for quick and easy cleaning, however hand washing is recommended to prolong the life of the product; Limited Lifetime Warranty
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Exceeded expectations!

From what I've read about this I wanted to try ceramic knives. The day they arrived I just had to try them on some small tomatoes I picked in my garden (the size of a cherry tomato). I was happy to feel that they cut right through without pushing out the inside of the tomato in subsequent cuts. They're also great for soft cheeses - you can get a thinner cut and the cheese doesn't stick to the blade as much as my stainless steel blades (even blocks American cheeses like Velveeta). I've also used

Pros

Great knife! on special knives

This knife does its job perfectly! It was actually my second as my first one apparently grew legs and ran away. at least that's what my roommate wants me to believe. I'm a bit of a knife snob and can't stand poor quality or design (dull blades, curved blades, awkward handles). And if I see someone trying to put a good knife in the dishwasher, sound the alarm. It's a crime in my house. I have had many knives over the years and I can tell you this is a great product for the price. The handle…
