    Great tool but needs some adjustment

    My carpenters have found that the hard plastic pads leave small but noticeable gouges in the wood when using the tool on very soft pine. On very hard, smooth-surfaced wood, the hard pads would slip and not hold the wood. So Fastcap sent a pack of grips to use on the pads and it made a big difference, but the grips had to be changed frequently. The solution is to make a block with large rubber or silicon pads.

    Disappointed: Accessories

    Disclaimer: I'm a fan of most Fastcap products. However, this does not meet my quality criteria. The design is good and durable. However, I had expected the contact points to be rubberized or made of a non-slip material. It's not like this. The tips are made of hardened plastic and slide over the workpiece; This is less safe than using this stick at all. I removed the plastic tips and dipped them in the plastidip. At least it's a bit functional now. However, a good idea is a bad implementation.

    I'm so impressed with this little gem that I'm giving it to my woodworking friends. At first it seemed silly, trivial, anyone can do this trick. I've been holding and cutting things on a miter saw for years. Then something went wrong. The saw blade caught a small workpiece and tried to throw it over the back of the saw.
