Poor customer service at best. defective product.

First of all I am writing this review because the manufacturer needs my feedback. Here it is. Item arrived quickly from Revain. Raven is great. I assembled the item and tested it for leaks. After sealing all the threads with tape, I noticed a leak in the protective cover area. Oddly enough, water was dripping from under the sleeve. I removed the protective cover and found that it had a manufacturing defect in the threads and was leaking. Rather than bother Revain with something so petty I…

(Update: NO) Would I buy again. Of course.

UPDATE: After using the conical shape for about 10 infusions, it broke. At the 8th weld, the ball valve broke and was replaced. I drilled a well for a thermometer and installed a sampling valve. Constant leakage due to poor thread casting on the mold line. Buy a supply of Teflon as you will use quite a bit of it. - The thread on the block has snapped in the ball valve, rendering it unusable. The plastic is very thin at the base near the 1/16" thread casting, not like the 1/8" on the sides and…

Ignore these low reviews!

On a whim I was looking for a "cheap cone digester" out of boredom. I've brewed in the past but absolutely hated the "pipe" or "yeast cake" at the bottom of the brew bucket. Transferring from bucket to bucket is an unbelievable ordeal, and you always soak up a little of that abomination with your wondrous brew. I hated the process of brewing in a bucket and stopped brewing until I found this beauty. First let me say that most of these one and two star reviews are picky and should not be…

A good concept that is well executed.

Call it 4.5 stars rounded up to five. It's a darn good idea for an inexpensive conical fermentor with a worthy innovation (collecting ball) added to the mix. Assembly is easy, but take your time. Take your time and do it right, and especially secure those threads! Teflon tape is included so you have no excuses. Above all, don't overtighten. It's tempting to tighten those connections and stuff as tight as you can, but if you do you'll almost certainly mess up the plastic threads. Finger…

One of the best upgrades you can make

I'm postponing writing a review until I've fermented a few batches, but now that I've just finished my third I have the feeling , I can give a good honest review for those discussing the purchase. I've always used large bottles and bubblers for fermentation, I've used glass and plastic and got the same results. The only thing I didn't use was the conical jar, so I was a little hesitant to try it for fear I wouldn't like it. I watched every YouTube video and read every article and forum post I…

Like many, I was looking for an alternative.

Like many, I was looking for an alternative to standard pails and bottles for brewing and winemaking. The rapid fermentation idea made sense, and I began researching it. I was a little discouraged at first reading all the comments about leaks and clogs. In the end, I found out that the company had allegedly increased the size of the fitting and neck. This should solve the clogging problem. I also planned on simply hanging hops, fruit, or other ingredients in a muslin bag on a stainless steel…
