Febco 905 052 Check Assembly Repair Review

This was the final part of my system repair. Not only Febco sets high prices for its parts, but also other manufacturers. High prices for a piece of plastic, but it's important that it works. Although the system works fine now.

Expensive for what it is (rubber seal, spring and plastic cost about a nickel) but seems like the cheapest source I could find. Matches exactly what it replaced. In the future I will try to freeze drain my sprinkler system and avoid having to buy this part!

The service from Revain is excellent as usual and the part is original and fits perfectly. My anger is not with the seller but with Febco for asking an unreasonably high price. I also blame myself for deciding to pay the ransom, I usually throw away the product and blacklist the seller, but I was too lazy to do the job and install another model.

I don't blame Revain for the high price as it was close to other sellers and I enjoy doing business with them. However, the amount charged ($25) is more than what you get. The entire brass valve assembly is only $100. These are consumable items and if they break they will need to be replaced, but the price borders on gouging.

Had to replace the assembly in my 1" check valve due to frost damage. Received delivery in 3 days, installation took a few minutes. Check valve was fixed and worked immediately. No magic required. Supplier did delivered what he promised so what more can I say I am satisfied with the supplier and the product delivered Winner!

Febco parts are worth it. When my popper and topper broke I inspected all of the parts in my backflow preventer and found that those parts were also badly worn, probably original parts. After replacing the check valve assembly and popper and topper with Febco parts, my unit did not drip. Don't worry about unsold hardware store parts, get Febco parts and you won't regret it. The dollar you can save isn't worth revisiting this topic anytime soon.
