Oil filter adapter Jeep 4.0.

Knocked out the T60 torque socket and used a 12mm wrench to get the lever on the adapter fitting. A 30 minute job and the kit included all 3 o-rings required (one on the front of the adapter and 2 for the banjo fittings).

Correct Gasket Kit for 99 XJ 4.0

Perfect for my 99 XJ Sport 4.0 liter. This kit had the correct seals and cured my oil leak. A total of 3 gaskets were used, one on the mating surface and 2 on the removable mounting stud.

  • Acceptable
Cons
  • I am concerned about

Will not fit XJ 1991

This product contains only one large o-ring/gasket to lock the adapter. There are 2 extra O-rings that may fit newer XJs but not my 91. My oil adapter has a screw instead of a torx connector.

  • Absolutely amazing!

Not easy, but worth it πŸ‘Œ

It was NOT easy to assemble, the Jeep puts a red Loctite on the oil filter adapter from the factory. I no longer have problems with the oil adapter, I would recommend replacing ALL O-rings. They all fit my 1998 Jeep Cherokee. If you're looking for leaks, this is a fairly common area for leaks.

Perfect solution! Best Gaskets

Fixed an oil leak on my 2000 Jeep Cherokee 4.0 6 cylinder engine. Loosening the adapter with Torx 60 was very difficult. A 1/2" T60 socket wrench and a 3 foot breaker to unscrew. Several extra gas kits are included, possibly for other models. But there were 3 pads I needed. Fit perfectly and no more leaks!

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • No mold required

Wrong seal kit for my jeep

This o ring kit contains 5 o rings. The oil filter bracket on my Cherokee requires 3. The largest and smallest in the new kit replaced two of mine, but the medium sized o-ring I needed was not included in the kit. I had to go and buy a separate o-ring to replace this one. According to Revane, it was the right set, not the wrong one.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Expensive insurance

Cherokee Oil Adapter Leak Repair

This fixed the leak. 1999 Cherokee with 240,000 miles. Good price compared to the dealer. I just used a large o-ring. The old one was flat and not elastic. I didn't try to remove the center piece because I didn't know if other o-rings would fit. They seemed too big (see photo). But after twisting to remove and install, the factory small o-rings will not leak. They don't see as much heat as those on the block. You need that beat. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002SR2S8/

Pros
  • Great Design
Cons
  • Crumpled Packaging

I don't know who designed the 90 degree oil filter mount on jeeps, but it's very bad. In any case, to fix an oil leak, you need to buy a T60 torque head. Get hit and knock out that little bit of torque. Unplug the outlet. Reach to the 90 degree angle of the oil filter and find where to insert the torque bar. Stick it in (you may have to dig up some sand/dirt) to install. torque bit. You need to craft something like a Rube Goldberg crowbar, as Jeep in its infinite wisdom used Red Locktite for…
