Fel Pro VS50608R Valve Cover Gasket Review

I received two identical (on the driver's side) gaskets. I didn't realize they had to be different until I took the whole car apart. I had to run to the local parts store of the same make and model. So far they are working as expected (one month). Make sure they are not exactly the same.

Nice replacement but was a lot more difficult to install than the OEM version. The OEM product sticks to the valve covers with no glue or weird tape tricks. This product could have used the same grooves and channel thicknesses to better fit the valve covers. This would make the installation less stressful and much easier.

One of the Made in China seals is on the box - it doesn't fit and leaks after a few thousand miles. I had better luck with the VICTOR REINZ VS50371 kit which includes both gaskets made in Japan and shares the same OEM markings as the original Nissan units. Always swap valve covers as they have built-in ignition tube bushings.

Good fit. I'm not sure if the bad reviews here are installation issues or a lack of testing to ensure this is the correct gasket. It fit perfectly on the driver's side for my 06 350z Touring Roadster. There were no issues on the passenger side, so I didn't change it. Fits perfectly, no leaks when tightened to manufacturer's specifications (mine was inch-pounds not foot-pounds). Always read the specs for your specific vehicle, but for the 350z it's no more than practical.

Good. Let's start with the 2004 Nissan 350z. I bought the whole set that comes with the pads but the pads in the kit weren't thick enough so I bought these and they are thicker than the pads in the kit. BUT. They are not as thick as the original OEM products. So I added some glue around the corners and other areas for more thickness. And so far it's sealed well. It's been a week so I'll update if they leak or have other issues. Nice. not bad.

Update: Item installed. The rubber is thinner than the original, fell out of the cover trying to put it on the engine. I had to apply sealant to keep it in place. The original, which was romeved, had thicker tires and was snug fitting. Old: Both items are bundled together. Haven't opened or installed anything. I'm not sure how long they've been packaged this way and what impact it might have on installation. Do the twisted parts align themselves after a relatively short time so that no leakage…
