🔪 Felco FELCO903 FELCO Professional Sharpener: Unlock Professional-level Precision and Durability Review

I bought this sharpener for my (old) Felco secateurs. I've had them for almost 20 years. I've sharpened them before, but with ceramic stones. When I used this sharpener it was all over. Now I'm a local felco guru and I love it. Break the felcos, sharpen the knife, oil them and they'll last another season or two. This sharpener is just great. Two thumbs up. Very high.

I would recommend the Work Sharp for around the same price as this one. Felco has spent a lot of time with two different pruners and isn't doing anything special. Two pruning shears (Felco and Fiskars) did not have a particularly sharp edge. On the other hand, my Work Sharp Field Sharpener with removable diamond scales in two different grits sharpened the same two pruning shears to a sharper edge in less time.

I have bought several sharpeners over the years but none seem to fit my Felco cutters so I didn't know what to expect from this sharpener but it really works Great! I use it not only for the Felco curved cutting knives but for all other garden tool blades. It's cheap, easy to use, and very effective. Find a place for it and have it handy as its compact size makes it easy to lose.

A lot of people seem to miss the point. This is not what you need for everyday sharpening of a machete, bolos, or hunting knife. It can act as a sharpener, but it's actually designed to take care of your secateurs' blades. The picture of the hand scissors should serve as a starting point. Its size and shape allow you to reach the edges near the hinge. Places that could not be reached with a large rectangular stone. The thinness and taper at each end makes it easy to sharpen curves.

I've never sharpened garden tools before but finally bought a really good bypass pruner that deserves a good care. I bought this sharpener after reading on a gardening site that it was a great tool for sharpening garden tools. My hand strength and dexterity are very limited (arthritis) and many objects are difficult for me to hold, but I have used this tool with no problem; Love that it's lightweight and it works great with my secateurs and pruning shears. , I have been using Felco model #2 secateurs for 30 years. I have literally tried (with little success) to sharpen the blades to my satisfaction using 4 or 5 different wet stones or files. I work as a maintenance technician and do a lot of trimming/trimming during the spring and summer, so having sharp tools actually reduces the amount of labor and time it takes to get a given job done. This is a great diamond sharpener but there is a small problem. A military survival knife or combat blade can be carried with a sheathed sheath. It works better than a whetstone. But selling it for use in garden tools, machetes, etc. is a bit of a stretch. Gloves must be worn when sharpening a machete. A hole in the stone for a lanyard would be great as you can hang it from your belt on your knife, machete, scythe or axe. It would be great to have this design and material on a larger whetstone.
