Impressive Best in Brewing

In an era of backorders, delays in shipments and of course the pandemic, UBREW USA has clearly demonstrated that the pursuit of efficiency is possible and should be possible in the new normal of pandemic living. . My Fermtech Deluxe Regular Siphon Kit, which included an automatic siphon, clamp, wine filler and NSF-51 hose, arrived FOUR DAYS AFTER I ORDERED! This is and should be the standard. I managed to pour the wine in time. The autosiphon was large enough to fit a three gallon bottle.

Works as intended... with a small problem.

Definitely much better than starting and restarting the base siphon. However, there is one issue to note with this product: there can't be much difference between the height of two jars (in my case, a bottle and a 5-gallon bucket). When the receiving jar is more than 2 feet below the bottle, it's bubble city time. I checked all my connections and found that the bubbles were coming from a seal between the small and large pipes (at the base of the siphon). Quality product but has its own…

Pump head does not seal completely

I have used this siphon several times and found that the piston head does not form a complete seal against the inner wall of the chamber. This allows air to flow through the piston and reduces liquid suction into the chamber, sometimes there is little to no liquid suction, other times it works great. Cleaning is also a challenge for the same reason and I have never found a way to dry the item properly without leaving it for a few days just waiting for evaporation to take its course. If this one

Great feature. A little fragile.

This is MUCH better than trying to suck out a length of hose to start the siphon. The fill widget is pretty good too. Everything in this set is efficient, efficient and clean. I currently ferment 5 gallon buckets but bought a longer siphon kit thinking I might need one someday. In retrospect, that was a mistake. I've used this twice and already managed to break a long tube. It's not a big deal because the crack is down the middle of the pipe and you only need about three inches of soil to be…

Bad design that breaks easily. Do Not Buy This Auto Siphon

I rarely write product reviews but the design of this item is flawed and I would caution others not to buy it and waste their money. Save time and money and buy another siphon. With this model, the small piece of plastic at the end of the tubing that blocks backflow while the tubing is being filled with liquid easily breaks out of the tubing end. Once this part breaks out, the automatic siphon is useless as there is no way to put the part back in the end. A simple solution for the manufacturer…

Should have bought these years ago

The final step in winemaking has always seemed the most frustrating and difficult to me. I mean start the siphon and move the siphon tube from the filled bottle to the next empty bottle. You always end up spilling your precious wine and making a mess in the kitchen. When the bottles are full, you have to fiddle with the filling level control in the bottle necks. If you leave too little space for air in the neck of the bottle, the air will be so compressed when you insert the cork that it…
