I wouldn't claim to be a crimping pro, but I have an upcoming project that requires me to attach some ferrules to a small wire. This kit offers a variety of 8 sizes of ferrules and a versatile crimping tool. The tool offers 6 levels of adjustment, which I believe change the crimp force. The smallest ferrule in the kit is for 22AWG wire. It's still too big for what I need. It would be nice if smaller tips were included in the kit. I tried this tool and the crimp looks good and secure.

This is a decent tool, maybe not stock quality but it crimps stranded wire well. Haven't tried it on 8 AWG, but in theory it works? But for tiny objects, control wires and anything else where the stranded wire is making direct contact with the tip of the screw in the terminal, this is a MUST, although many terminals these days have an expander in them so ferrules are not essential. I was looking for a crimping tool and ferrules. It was a complete package for a fraction of the cost. Most industrial shops sell this type of crimping tool for $270 or more. When I saw this I expected it not to work at all. Luckily I was pleasantly surprised. So far I've converted the power line to scales and a proximity sensor for the pallet wrapper. This is my third pair of these four way crimp tools that I have ordered. I also have a hex, but it only works well with round hole inserts. The guys I work with constantly praise how easy they are to use. (2 of which were introduced to my colleagues). They are ideal for small wires and spade lugs.
