Filtrete 3US MAX S01 Maximum Filtration Installation Review

This is my first review and may be subject to change later depending on how it stands up to the tests. The fridge only filters the water dispenser, not the ice. My fridge has a double ice maker and there is a big difference between filtered ice and unfiltered ice. Also, these tiny fridge filters don't last long and only have basic filtration. Luckily the fridge automatically bypasses the filter inside the fridge as soon as I remove the filter from the fridge, no plug required. I ended up buying

I had to from 3m v 3m stopped making filters. Happy with this device I bought this one. I am disappointed with the quality of the mounting hardware provided and compared to my previous 3m device. I mistakenly thought that this block would be easy to adapt to the lines of the old block and the 3m dispenser already installed, but I was wrong. The old block was 1/4" including the dispenser, but this one is 3/8". So adapters were needed. Also, this block seems flimsy, but the hoses go in and out…

A recent test showed high levels of lead in my drinking water. I bought this filter to deal with it. I decided to install this as a filter for my fridge. The refrigerator makes ice and dispenses water. The fridge already has a carbon filter, but it's not designed to remove lead, so I had to upgrade it. Water lines used for refrigerators and ice makers are typically 1/4 inch OD with compression fittings. The water lines on this Filtrete unit are 3/8" OD, so some adapters are required. I chose to
