Fiskars 18X24 Donna Dewberry Cutting Review

This cutting mat has saved me so much time and increased accuracy when used with a rotary fabric cutter! That's great! Some people say that if you don't store it horizontally, the mat will curl up when stored. If you make a hole at the top and hang it on a nail in the door, the problem is solved!

I went to embroidery and one of the girls had one of these rugs. I was so impressed with the ease with which the cut lines showed that I bought one. I'm so happy I did. I use it with the OmniGrip rulers and the combination makes it much easier for me to see the cutting lines. Highly recommended.

The mat looks nice but the black squares printed in the center of the mat make it difficult to see if the ruler is properly aligned when cutting dark fabrics. Unfortunately, the 45.7 x 61 cm carpet does not leave much light space to work with. I ended up giving the rug to my husband for his workshop and bought a rug without the printed squares from another manufacturer.

Actually I wanted to use this for my sewing projects. I had to replace the smaller cutting mat I had previously. Although I didn't pay attention to the SIZE. This one is REALLY big. Fiskars is an excellent cutting mat. This is my second and I love it. However, I don't like the numbering of this rug compared to my previous one, so I'm giving it 4 stars. Inches should be aligned from vertical to horizontal. 1 sq inch, 2 sq inch. etc. As the number of mats increases from 1, it becomes easier/faster to measure the square/rectangle. I LOVE this! Firstly, I love the size and the fact that it's reversible (blue and purple are my favorite colors, that's just a plus). But more importantly, it's easy to use, durable, slightly lighter, the darker squares in the center really help with measurements and angles, and the little thing I personally appreciate is that there are measurements (which are accurate) outside of measuring fields. - this way you can place the fabric close to the edge and still control your size. That's why I bought this one - it's so cool, it's double sided, same pattern, great colors (it's not pink, it's more purple - greenish yellow and periwinkle!) the ceiling camera and for scanning - for which the size is perfect, the pattern is perfect and the colors are way better than the standard grays and blacks or even greens, blues or some other variety - and still not charging it is a bargain.
