Good buy! Best in Aquarium Pumps and Filters

This filter keeps my turtle's tank very clean and the water clear. Exactly what I was looking for. I am very happy with the purchase, so I recommend it.

Tipping Point: Aquarium Pumps and Filters

I've spent years trying to match the filter size with my 70 gallon freshwater aquarium and scheduled maintenance. This system is probably overkill, but I've never had a cleaner tank and happier fish.

Pros
  • Easy Installation
Cons
  • Not Everything Fits

Works great for filters

This thing has been working for almost two months, it's easy to set up and the water is still crystal clear. I have a red-eared slider and her water has always been dirty. This canister kept it clean and very quiet

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Almost everything is there

High Rating - Filter

Bought this filter for my 200 gallon aquarium because the tank manufacturer highly recommended it. The jury is still out because I've only had it a few weeks. After cleaning I will update my review. It's not too loud.

Pros
  • Looking forward to
Cons
  • Big and bulky

The best filter ever! for filters

This is by far the best filter I've ever had! Fluval is great, now I won't switch to another brand! This filter is so quiet I always wonder if it's on, and yes it really is! Tuning Tips: Once the filter starts working, it stops for a few minutes. This is because it performs a self-test of the air. Don't unplug it while checking your air or you'll have to plug and unplug it all day! Also, it will automatically turn off for about 1 minute every 12 hours to check the air and then turn on again, so

Good Headroom Turtle Tank Filter

I have a 75 gallon turtle tank that I have had a hard time keeping clean. I originally had 2 large standard double waterfall carbon filters that I had to clean a few times a week which never served the purpose despite weekly water changes. So I did a little research to look for a filter that would work for my application as I have about 6 inches of the tank empty for the turtle to come out and sunbathe without running away. This filter sits on the bottom and has adequate suction and suction…

Amazing gear and technology

I have been keeping both freshwater and saltwater pools for about 25 years and Fluval has always been the best brand in the game. The FX6 has been on my wish list for years and I finally got my hands on it on Prime Day at a great price. I keep it in a 180 gallon aquarium with sandy substrate and mostly guppies swimming around. I neglected this tank for years because the rear filter was underperforming and water was not changed, so having this filter installed was quite frustrating. After a week

I have very lucky Oscars with Tuwal in my corner.

As an aquarist since the 1970's, I've known the Fluval name for a long time. But I have never used Fluval brand canister filters on my aquariums, now I regret not having done so. They always seem so expensive that I can't justify the cost. I've found that you really do get what you pay for, backed by numerous bugs, glitches, the occasional annoying leak and noise from other brands. I keep Oscars and African cichlids. My current Oscar is 8 years old and was given to me by my mother-in-law when…

Filter cleaning tip

I have been keeping cichlids for 15 years now, I like Malawi Mbuna because they are colorful and easy to care for but they produce lots of detritus and are also very high yielders (started with 5 on this 75 gallon tank). This is my third Fluval filter. 406 bit the dust. It needed weekly cleaning, was noisy, and became unreliable. Don't believe everything you read about the FX4, there won't be six months between cleanings unless you have neon tetras. With 3 water changes, 4-5 weeks pass. It has…
