We bought this product in November 2016 and after only 2 months of occasional use the sealing element stopped working. We have contacted Foodsaver and are still trying to resolve the issue. Any interaction with them takes days to get a response. Fingers crossed you get a working device because if you rely on customer service to fix an issue, you're likely to be disappointed!

UPDATE. I originally gave this product one (1) star because it broke shortly after purchase. I couldn't return it to Revain because I missed the return deadline by a few days. However, I contacted Food Saver and they did their best to resolve the issue over the phone. When the car turned out to be defective, it was replaced. The new one works great. That's what I call standing up for your product!

After 10 months of occasional use, no longer vacuums/seals. It pumps air out but I have to manually heat the sealing button and even then it may or may not seal. I figured if you spend more you'll get a reliable product. UPDATE: I wasn't aware that this particular sealant has a 5 year guarantee. I called the company and explained the problem. They have emailed asking for info on where to buy, pick up etc. I got a reply today and they are sending me a new seal.

I read all the reviews before buying and I was glad to use it! Unfortunately, after about 10 uses (light use, less than 1 hour of intermittent use), the vacuum suddenly became less effective. Makes a lot of noise 100% of the time. It actually works on the first try 25% of the time. When using bags, the air is never completely extracted as shown in the picture. I also use containers sold separately. I usually have to run it twice to get the print. I'm no fool, but this machine is perhaps my biggest regret of my Revain purchases. The first thing I tried was cooked ribs which I sealed to later reheat sous vide. However, four out of five packages have lost their seal. It doesn't matter if I tried a "wet" or "dry" setting.
