Much better than helmets from 5-10 years ago

My previous auto-darkening helmet was circa 2012 but this one is much more comfortable to use due to the less dark glass. The variable dimming settings seem good, but I've only really used them for welding. I'm deducting a star because my head size is about 7-1/4 and it barely fits the largest size. Lifelong problem with caps and such.

Pros
  • Sturdy build
Cons
  • Negative impression

Putting it together was a little tricky as the instructions weren't entirely clear and the brochure had instructions for some models that were slightly different, but overall the helmet construction seems solid and the external derailleur is certainly nice too to have . This is a very handy feature when welding, so you don't have to lift the mask to change. But overall I'm very happy with the helmet, especially for the price.

Decent value for money

The instructions that came with this product are very poor to say the least. Nowhere is it explained where and how to change the batteries (must be disassembled, you need 2 batteries). Usually the product comes unassembled, although assembling it is not that difficult. The screen is large and very clear. I use a TIG welding helmet and it works great for this purpose. All the controls are inside the helmet which is a shame but for the money it is what it is. All in all, not a bad product, just…

The blue design has the best view from the inside.

I bought 2 helmets with different designs. One for me and one for my son. I recommend the blue flame skull design over the red scroll, yellow skull. Not because I care about design, but seeing through the blue is much better, especially in morale mode. Much cleaner than the old greenish tint of yesteryear. Also a large viewing area. Both are comfortable, the settings work well, and an extra lens is included. I don't think these are professional welding masks. However, they are great for the…

Beautiful helmet in Welding helmets

Excellent helmet for its price. Easy to use and configurable for different welding processes and personal preferences. It is very light and has a large field of vision. The headband is comfortable and adjusts to fit a wide range of head sizes and has an integrated browguard for welding in hot conditions. The assembly was a bit tricky due to the rather small writing/images in the instructions, but once assembled it feels solid enough. The only issue I can think of is that the ratchet that holds…

Works great - Security

I like the way they work and the settings make them perfect for the job. I used to only use cheap HFs and was always a little disappointed when I went from making potholders with a mig to walking beads with a stick and then swapped out the helmet for a sanding shield. Just remember to turn off the sanding process before making the next bow, or you'll pause and wait for the stains to go away. The two downsides of this helmet are that the friction gets progressively weaker as you lift it, causing

Good for my needs. best personal protective equipment

I am not a professional welder. It works better than the Chicago Electric helmet I borrowed from my brother. (I still have this one, but the battery has failed and cannot be replaced. The last time I used it, I got an arc burn. I've since replaced the auto-darkening lens with one with replaceable batteries, but after comparing, this one seems to work better in terms of visibility and arc blocking). I bought it because it seemed a step up from the lowest quality helmets like the one I was using…

Is the supplied removable battery NOT rechargeable?

Excellent helmet quality for the money. We understood each other without any problems. Doesn't sleep when I turn over. The comfort is great for weekend military work. The tint adjustment knob on the outside of the helmet works great with welding gloves. My problem is that I store the helmet in direct sunlight all day when not in use, but after 2 weeks of ownership the low battery indicator came on. Now it stays dark for a while when you first turn it on, as one reviewer mentioned in January. My
