The 4 step instructions were easy enough and YES, there were no pre-drilled holes for the base (but I think it gave me a good fit). The table is inexpensive and very beautiful. Mine is oriented correctly: the boxes face each player, not the sides. The finish is not perfect but certainly very good. There are a few spots that weren't properly coated at the factory, but that's easily fixed with a furniture handle. I was thrilled when it was delivered. However, once I started collecting it, my excitement quickly turned to frustration. All was going well until it was time to attach the base (Step 4 in the picture guide). The circles cut on the base (Detail H) were so misaligned with the threaded holes on the stand (Detail G) I couldn't believe my eyes. How the hell was this done professionally?
