Although carbide tips should last longer than steel.

Although carbide cutting edges should last longer than steel, the smoothness of the cut was disappointing. The sidewalls weren't nearly as smooth as those made from chunks of steel. It could just be that bit - possibly a bad floor. I will not buy more to find out.

Disappointed Best in Power & Hand Tools

A little background, I am a professional carpenter and run a production workshop. I bought this lure because of the excellent quality of other Freud products. It was used on a loaded drill press. Even if it cuts fast. Hole quality is terrible Straight out of the box! Tears torn wood grain instead of cutting properly. Holes that are very fuzzy look like they need to be shaved. Each well had to be resurfaced, resulting in lost man hours and money. Regular saw teeth made from old steel cut better,

Overall Not Impressed

I run an online perforated board business that requires me to drill 200-500 holes a week in hardwood with a press. I've had good luck with other Freud products and Forstner shots. Typical steel bits are good for a short time and I was looking for something more permanent which led me to their carbide bits. The overall appearance of the dentition is attractive. Very nice packaging, looks solid. I was impressed when I first received it. However, when I actually drilled the hole, I almost gasped…

  • Confident

  • Not Trendy
