Nice, sharp, high quality material. Buy this knife!

This knife is not only beautiful and sharp, but also very high quality. For a VG-10 Damascus this is an amazing deal, I have many other knives from Japan and this one is just as sharp and well made. At first I only bought a 3.5 paring knife and upon receipt I will need the rest of this beautiful set. Take this knife!

Pros
  • Finally bought
Cons
  • No paint needed

This is not damascus steel.

I like the look of this knife, especially the handle. Very easy to handle and work with. Only bad thing - it needs to be sharpened every day if you really want a sharp knife. It doesn't bother me much - I bought a good knife sharpener here at Revain and it takes a minute to sharpen both knives (I bought 3.5" and 5"). Look at the picture - instead of "Damascus" they wrote "Damascus". Blade, I think this was done on purpose to avoid problems with damascus steel makers.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

A beautiful knife for the kitchen and dining room

This is a beautiful knife that is a lot of fun. I was looking for a good chef's knife to replace my old cheap knife and found the right one with this knife. It is very well made and a pleasure to use. One of the reasons I bought the knife was the beautiful handle design and to be honest I wasn't disappointed when I saw it in person. It has a slight blue tinge that contrasts very well with the wood. The blade itself is very sharp and allows you to cut almost anything with ease. Buy this knife…

Excellent customer service

I had a small problem with the knife because Revain sent the knife back to me and the company fixed the problem right away. I think customer service is very important these days so they deserve five stars. The knife seems very durable and looks like a work of art. I have the Dalstrong, Shun Classic, Shun Premier and Shun Kaji knife sets and the Bob Kramer Meiji knife series. I find them comparable to Dalstrong sets and a bit heavier than Shun and Bob Kramer's Meiji sets. Hope that helps! The…

Contradictory, boring and undersized but well made

Advantages: attractive, looks well made. Probably dishwasher safe which was a selling point and I appreciate it. Although to be honest I haven't fully tested it yet. Cons: Not sharp at all, very disappointed that it needs sharpening right out of the box. Made for very small hands and medium/large hands, it's the last choice for my chopping and dicing tasks. Even if, because I have to sharpen it first. Did I mention it's boring? Yes. Strange that they sent it that way. I mean, that amazingly…

Great knife + real damascus = very satisfied

I ordered both 5" and 3.5". I have further sharpened them with a wet stone to make the razor blade even sharper and these knives are a pleasure to use. Cuts veggies with so little effort per slice that I enjoy doing things I used to be afraid to do. The knives are beautiful and hold their edge well. Overall it's a great price and I'm happy with the performance and how they look in my kitchen! I sent back another pair of knives I bought from Revain for the same amount of money which was…

Sturdy and reliable knife

This durable knife has not been sharpened, which surprised me. When sharpening with a whetstone, I've noticed that carbon steel is very hard, and that's the quality I've been desperately looking for. Disillusioned with the rapid dulling of high-carbon stainless steel, I'm reverting to good old-fashioned high-carbon stainless steel. After some sharpening, this knife became very sharp in a short time. The construction of this knife is extremely strong and should last a long time as the harder…

Fantastic paring knife - Fantastic knife period!

An excellent paring knife, especially for its price. The weight and balance are exceptional and it's very sharp! Practical and optically well thought out. Overall very impressed and would definitely buy again. Edit: I bought it for off-label use, as a paring knife or carving knife. I like a good paring knife for personal use/food use. Over the past few years I've used a couple of decent paring knives for everything from cold cuts to slicing steaks. The size of a good paring knife is perfect for
