Description of 🔌 Furrion 50 Amp RV Automatic Transfer Switch with Vibrationsmart & Climatesmart Technology - F50-ATS, Black 125/250V AC Power Source Changer

Safe and Automatic Transfer Switch - Furrion’s 50amp Automatic Transfer Switch has a built-in safe switch interlock system and is used to automatically switch between two separate 125 /250 volt AC power sources. These power sources can be from a Generator, shore power cord or inverter. Avoid Over-voltage - Provides an added feature of a mechanical interlock between contractors to ensure both contactors cannot be closed in parallel, preventing overvoltage on the output line.Casing Material: UL 94 Fireproof Plastic. Time Delay - Once AC power from the Generator is sensed by the transfer switch at Input 2 terminals, it will start a timer and automatically switch over to generator power supply after a 20-30 sec delay which ensures the generator has sufficient time to run up to speed before electrical load is applied. Durable & Reliable: Designed with Furrion's proprietary VibrationSmart and ClimateSmart technologies, this ATS is built to withstand constant vibrations & extreme temperatures. Solid brass terminals are used to increase conductivity and reduce heat and are Nickel plated for corrosion resistance. Highest Safety Standards - The Automatic Transfer Switch comes in a UL94 Flame retarded enclosure and is certified to UL Standards UL1008.

The transfer time is at least 10ms as advertised

Eh it works but the transfer time is bad it's too slow and all my lights and computers turn off when switching . * Update in a month: train it a few times, now it transmits fast enough where computers and lights stay on. I upgraded from 4 to 5 stars because it's great now

Pros
  • I ended up buying
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Works great in spares

Better design than the one that failed in our RV. In the original, the electronics were rigidly attached to one of the relays, so the shock from operating the relay fell directly on the electronics - not good. The new device has the same (or very similar) relays, but the electronics are mounted to the side of the durable plastic case, reducing physical shock. Also much lighter than the original metal box. It works very well!

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

I bought this to help my wife start the generator

I bought this to help my wife start the generator We have an inverter, bank power and a generator I have a 30 amp plug for the inverter that plugs into the shore. However, when we needed AC power, we had to go outside and change plugs. This is not difficult, just impractical. This fixes this problem generator out. Boom, like magic, inverter power taking over, ok not really magic, more like magnets I guess

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

50A switching (L1, L2, L3) with delayed or instantaneous transfer

Exception. I could spend a lot of money on pre-built systems. But then I want to control my own critical currents and charge/discharge voltages for my system. I have chosen whether the inputs will be supplied with 120VAC from the shore and the second input will be either my generator or my inverter. I can even change the input to my converter to be ON ONLY when 120VAC is present so the converter doesn't drive the inverter into a useless current loop. I chose instant switching because I don't…

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
