Restored ground clearance

Installing the Hijacker shock absorbers was relatively easy! Hose connections quickly fit into existing holes in the frame. The dampers did a great job of equalizing the ride height to tow a box trailer without falling through the bumps! In addition, the normal ride height has been restored, improving overall comfort and control in everyday driving.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

The product has stood the test of time and repeated (heavy) use

These shock absorbers have been on my minivan for about 5 years now and I am very happy with the results. They don't leak, it's not difficult to drive as you would expect from an air cushion and they helped me when I had to carry a heavy load of wood. The kids have grown up and now I use my minivan like a truck with the seats removed. I bought them to withstand heavy loads when I pump them up and then lower them back down. Moved wood, clapboards on my house, pavers for pathways, whatever.

Pros
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • Almost never

Frustrating experience

A licensed mechanic installed it on my minivan so I could tow our boat. He filled them with 25 pounds of air. I was standing there talking and suddenly,,,,,fuuuuuu,,,,,, the van fell over. I blew the seals on both sides right in front of the mechanic. I wish I could contact the seller as I don't like writing bad reviews. Now I have to buy a kit locally and pay a mechanic to remove the shocks and replace them with others. I spent over $200 buying these shocks before I was done and couldn't even…

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Requires an outlet
