Works great with car accessories

Just what you need when you don't want to drill extra holes in your boat. Use some boat glue to seal it, put in some glycol and that's it. Works great.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Very expensive

. Leaks - this encased converter works just as well!

I installed it in the hull for the depth gauge - I had a through hull in the previous boat and it was a torture with constant leaks - this in hull transducer works just as well!

Pros
  • handy thing

This unit is amazing. Love it

This is an amazing device. Love it. I would never hook a stern mount transducer to my bow again. This is a much better solution and has replaced my Garmin GT21. I installed it on a 1992 Hydra-Sports 1750 with a thick wood-filled glass body. Works great. Connected to Echomap 54DV. Interesting fact; You can literally just put the shim in the dead center of the hull as close to the transom as possible as long as there is some water there, about 2 inches, and it will work fine. Just as good as…

Best sonar solution with Garmin MFD

no longer be satisfied. There's a crisp graphic of what's underneath, precise depth that never fails, and a good picture of what the ground looks like. Installation was easy except we ran an extension cord on our Carver 500 which is not a product issue. I wanted a NEMA2000 version that isn't available nationwide but isn't really needed. We hooked it up to our Garmin MFD and it worked straight away with no setup required. Just hooked up a sonar. Our thru-hull transducers are out of service and I

Pros
  • hands-free
Cons
  • I don't really like it, it's ok

Replaced a faulty block 6 years ago

Turns out my previous block was glued to the inside of the case and the fluid cup wasn't used. I've researched whether this is correct and really never found a solid answer. However, the original sensor worked the first day we bought the boat (used) and then stopped for me, which goes without saying. I found it had peeled off and wasn't glued in place so I glued it back on. still won't work. He could hear making noises, but he never showed depth. So I bought a new sensor---and the new one had…
