Bought this device for my wife's car which had no sat nav. Also bought a power cord (no subscription required - just plug in). I bought a DriveSmart 51 (DS 51) to replace a 5 year old Garmin Nuvi 40. I've looked at many different GPS devices and read many reviews. I chose the DS 51 mainly for use in a rental car when traveling. I also purchased a Garmin Air Vent Mount along with the RevainBasics 5 inch GPS case. I am giving this product a relatively low rating as it does not meet the needs for which I bought it. I have a Toyota Avalon with built in GPS that is over four years old. The GPS mapping system, at least the old one, is becoming obsolete. In heavily built-up areas like the Tristate Area and Washington DC, my GPS has trouble navigating properly.
