Works for a while.

If you're a Garmin Edge owner, you're no doubt familiar with this little mount. This small plastic mount with an even smaller plastic clip is all that keeps your expensive GPS attached to your bike. While the design works and appears solid when fitted, it has one fatal flaw. It's a damn flexible plastic clip that breaks over time. If this clip breaks, you will have nothing left to protect the GPS navigator. I have searched for a long time for a refurbished or third party product that could…

  • May I add something?

Embarrassment in front of an excellent bike computer

I am both a frequent racer and an absolute fan of gadgets. I love the 705. It's a great looking product. Once you've surpassed the premium price point, the ability to track everything and connect to ANT+ devices (like my PowerTap) is essential. Trouble is, whoever designed the bike rack should be (literally) fired. I went through three last year. I swore after the first one broke I would be more careful but it doesn't help. If you turn off the computer every day (to write a large amount of…

fits plastic holder

As for the plastic holders, this device is great and you can use it vertically or horizontally. Don't move it, but the connection from the holder itself to your expensive GPS isn't that strong. I replaced it after 9 months of use after the plastic arm broke. Has been used a lot but it's just a plastic lever and it works about as well as you would expect from a plastic lever that I've read bad reviews about (road glitches) that resulted in the loss of their $600 unit and I could see it happen…

Better than the original Garmin Edge product.

This Garmin Edge GPS bike mount seems to be a more secure model than the one that came with my device. The difference is how the Edge securely snaps into the mount on the back of the Edge. A secure Finding point has always been a problem with the original product. Moreover, the trigger lever does just that, without requiring the help of a pocket knife and without the risk of the lever breaking. All other features are the same as standard equipment.Advantages:Can on Can be mounted on any size pole

An embarrassment for a great bike computer

I'm both a frequent racer and a total gadget fanatic. I love the 705. It's a great design product. Being able to track everything and connect to ANT+ devices (like my PowerTap) makes it essential. Trouble is, whoever designed the bike rack should be (literally) fired. I went through three last year. I swore after the first one broke I would be more careful but that doesn't help. If I take the computer off every day (to record its bulk data collection), the mount will eventually break. And when…
