Fits 2004 FXT fairing.

Used in 04 Forester XT. Both ends need trimming to get a good fit. When done right, it's great. It is thicker than the original hose. But don't use the original clamps, get a good set of hose clamps. Replaced the lower hose at the same time. Gate 22498.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

Crop to fit? Whaaa?

This upper hose was too long for my Forester application. Went to the auto parts store to buy another one but they had the same Gates hose. The parts man told me the hoses were cut to fit "today". REALLY A GOAL? I BOUGHT THE WATCH BECAUSE IT WAS A QUALITY PRODUCT THAT FITS IT! NO MORE GOALS FOR ME!

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Negative impression

Does not match the forester from the list.

As others have said this does not fit Subaru Foresters (2004 in my case) as stated. Instead of trying to cut and adjust it I took the original tube (3x the price) and sent that back for a refund. Gates lost me as a customer because of this, and because of their supposedly equivalent original T-Stat, which overheated my car on my first drive.

  • Best in its niche

Get ready to cut.

The wall thickness of the hose on these radiator hoses is very nice but the cutting is not very nice. My application was for a 2007 Subaru Forester and I had to cut it several times. I suggest making small cuts using the old hose as a template and doing lots of test fittings. It can work and look good, but you need sharp tools and some time.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Doubtful

Had to replace the radiator and thought it would be nice to swap out the radiator hoses. This upper hose does not fit my 2003 Forester XT. I tried cutting both ends and it came out close but when I compared the fit to the top hose I removed it wasn't as good as the old one as the new hose flexed a bit when installed. The old upper hose is 3 years old, bought from Subaru, fits perfectly and is in very good condition so I reused it. I didn't want to return this hose as I cut it off. Some…

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Out of fashion
