High Voltage - Engine Parts

So I'm really tired of all this "it's so called good quality by the looks of it" or basically copy very cheap parts. The previous "good and cheap part" only lasted 24,000 km. Either way, there's a hell of a tension in this. The Gates signature part actually shows much more of the feel and look of a machined one. Despite the much higher price, I'm sure this will work well in "Brand XXXXX, its good quality/similar part" for much longer than 15k.

Pros
  • Patented labyrinth seal protects internal components to meet or exceed OE life requirements
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Miscellaneous

Not Gates!: Spare parts

It's a Litens brand as someone said, although it was packed in a Gates box with a "Made in Germany" sticker . I took a chance and hoped he wasn't lucky. I've seen some 5 star reviews showing a Litens tensioner, maybe people were happy with their device, I'm not sure. The one I received had over a millimeter of pulley play. Regardless of whether the Litens is made in Germany or not, the part showed poor quality (RPG and an unsightly casting). I order Gates from CarID for $100.

Pros
  • Torsion round spring ensures reliability as well as constant tension
Cons
  • Some bugs

This is the original piece!

Although it says Gates on the packaging, it is made in Germany by Litens, an original equipment manufacturer. If you search for part #1122000970 it doesn't show up for some reason but I can assure you it's the equivalent. At the dealer it will be around 250€. I made the mistake of buying a URO part here. Don't waste time. Pay $15 more and buy it! URO part #1122000970 is so poorly made it can't even be screwed into the timing case cover. The screw spacing was too narrow. There's no excuse for…

Pros
  • Full range includes parts for passenger cars, vans, SUVs and light trucks, domestic and imported (from Europe and Asia)
Cons
